For the past 35 years Dale Youree has been training barrel racing horses to win. This he has been doing with much success. His horses have won or placed in every barrel futurity and major show in North Anerica. As a matter of fact, he has won or been reserve at more than 50 futurities during his career.
He has trained four AQHA World Champion barrel horses. In 1980 Dale and his wife Florence were honored by the Smithsonian Institute and the State of Oklahoma to represent the barrel racing sport at the Folklife Festival in Washington, DC. In "Barrel Racing--The Youree Way" Dale demonstrates some of his techniques that have made him one of the top barrel racers in the nation. He discusses the different ways to approach the barrels. He also discusses his philosophy of how he trains barrel horses for competition.
