Joe Beaver is the two-time world champion calf roper in 1985 and 1987 as well as rookie of the year in 1985. He has garnished all of these honors before the age of 21, and has been roping all of his life. He started roping from the back of his little pony ... who would think that this little cowboy would grow up to become a world champion?
Joe begins with the basics of roping. He demonstrates the different types of ropes he uses in competition, then step by step he demonstrates how to rope a dummy, work in the chute, dismount from the horse and tying the calf. Joe then shows several examples of how he became a world champion roper.
