Pioneering bowhunter and adventurer, Gary Bogner, makes his first hunt in Europe, the primary target in his sights is to take the four species of Ibex that Spain has to offer on one truly extraordinary adventure.

Gary's first encounter with an ibex is high in the Gredos Mountains, west of Madrid where a calculated shot and superb tracking in woeful conditions lead to his first Ibex. The second Ibex in the grand slam is the Ronda Ibex, found amongst the deep dry valleys of the Mediterranean; so close that Gary's trophy almost ends up in the sea. The third Ibex is found in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where some helpful local knowledge comes into play and a successful ambush is laid. Gary is using the rut to help him to find the older Ibex bucks and to acheive his grand slam in one adventure. Before trying for the last and possibly the toughest of the Ibex, which ruts a little later than the other three, Gary spends some time hunting some of the other animals that Spain offers, excellent Red Stag, rare European Wild Boar, and the Spanish specialty, the Mouflon Sheep. The beceites Ibex is the final member of the grand slam that Gary came to hunt in Spain and is found in the gorges and valleys of the Beceites Mountains. Finding them is the easy part, getting close enough for the kill proves to be a lot more difficult. You will experience some tough shots in rough country. This is bow hunting at its very best.
