Ross Carnahan has won World Championships in Pole Bending seven times and holds both junior and senior record times set at the AQHA World show. In 1984 he won both the junior and senior pole bending championships at the AQHA World show. He has placed at least one horse in the top ten AQHA point systems every year since 1974.
In this video Ross describes methods for pole bending that can be successful for someone other than professional trainers. Ross shows the different training steps he uses for the beginning, intermediate and the finished horse. He emphasizes the differences between pole and barrel training. Ross narrates the slow motion runs from his wins at the AQHA World Championship show.
